Sushi recommendations

Heading to Boston in 24 days for 6 nights-very excited. My husband and I are very fond of sushi and hope to sample some in Boston.

Where are your recommendations on reasonably priced lunch sushi places and also for more upscale evening sushi restaurants?

We are staying in the Lenox Hotel and will be out and about at lunch time shopping and sightseeing and would favour somewhere close by for evening meals.

Thanks a million!!

I wholeheartedly recommend Fugyaku in Brookline (Beacon Street).

I second that opinion, plus it%26#39;s very close to Coolidge Corner which is an adorable neighboorhood full of cute shops, stores, etc. The best part about Fugaku is how gorgeous it is on the inside. Sliding doors, attractive ambience.

Take the C green line from Copley (right near the Lenox) to Coolidge Corner. It%26#39;s located on Beacon street diagonal from the T. Afterwards, i might even catch a movie at the Coolidge Corner Theater (small independent old theater) around the corner. http://www.coolidge.org

My favorite little place is Shino Express on Newbury Street. It%26#39;s absolutely delicious, with a creative menu and best of all, it%26#39;s super inexpensive. It%26#39;s very small and very casual, so I would recommend it for a lunch stop rather than dinner.

My favorite place for Sushi in Boston proper is Ginza, on Hudson St. in Chinatown. They have a great selection, and nice atmosphere, too. Plus, it%26#39;s fun to walk around Chinatown.

I%26#39;d recommend it for either lunch or dinner.

Fugakyu is excellent, and Oishi in Chestnut Hill gets Zagat%26#39;s higest rating in Boston for food across all food types. Oishi is tiny, so go for the food, not the atmoshpere - you%26#39;ll probably wind up side by side at the bar.

If you want something closer to the Lenox, O-Sushi in the Copley Place complex is quite good. Kaya on Boylston is also good and quite reasonably priced with Korean and Japanese options.

There is a local chain called ';Jae%26#39;s'; with 3 locations within a reasonable distance... Columbus Ave in the South End, Stuart St., in the Park Square area, near the Theatre District, and a new location across the street from the Lenox. In all honesty, I%26#39;ve only been to the Columbus Ave location (and the one in Brookline, which is a bit further afield), but it is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. The cuisine is what I guess would be called ';Asian';, rather than just sushi/Japanese, so is a really good choice if you%26#39;re ';thinking sushi';, but are open to alternatives. Their ';tidbits'; appetizer platters are fantastic!

Another option would be Cafe Sushi in the 1100 block of Mass Ave in Cambridge... between Central and Harvard Squares. They have great ';specials'; on Sundays... you might even say it%26#39;s cheap! It%26#39;s less ';formal'; than Jae%26#39;s... and I think any visitor to the Boston area should include a day in Harvard Square in their itinerary.

If you get homesick in the the area of Cafe Sushi, check out the Plough and Stars for a pint... about 2 blocks closer to Central Sq., and across the street.
