I%26#39;m coming from canada, to see a concert in Boston on Halloween night. I really don%26#39;t want to drive into Boston,, due to traffic etc,,(can%26#39;t drive in the city lOL),, I would like to stay somewhere outside of Boston that has a nearby train (subway) into Boston. I know Salem is out of the question,, due to the time of year, so I would like to stay somewhere, between Boston and Salem,, so I can visit both places by train. Could someone please give me a good location, that is easy to get to from the I95,, so I don%26#39;t end up lost or crazed,,, Any help would be greatly appreciated,,

... sounds to me like the Holiday Inn Somerville (3 blocks from Sullivan SQ T station) would be a good choice.
Reasonalble access to/from 95 %26amp; rte 1 N , 2 stops to North station for trains to North Shore. 3-6 stops to wherever you%26#39;re going to a concert in Boston.
See if they show up on a hotel search. How do their rates compare ? It%26#39;s a good clean place in a gritty/busy neighborhood.

La Quinta Inn in Somerville, and the AmeriSuites in Medford, are also close by the I-93 expressway and not far from Orange Line stops. The Orange Line serves North Station, which our major non-classical concert venue (TD Banknorth Garden) is right next door to - actually part of the same building LOL. Just three stops more on the Orange Line and you%26#39;d be at Downtown Crossing, a short block from the Orpheum. You didn%26#39;t mention whose concert this will be or where it%26#39;ll take place, but many more spots - from Symphony Hall to the Paradise Rock Club - are easily reached from Green Line stops. The Green Line and Orange Line merge at Haymarket, the next stop into town after North Station.
You wouldn%26#39;t necessarily have to re-think staying in Beverly, because there%26#39;ll be added commuter-rail service on Halloween night. The only issue would be getting to North Station before the last train leaves.
Thanks for your help,, I may go with staying in Beverly,, The concert is at the north station (gwen stefani), Sounds like somerville is almost right in Boston. I want to stay somewhere thats really easy to get too,, I%26#39;m scared to drive into the city,, Is somerville that easy to get to?
Yeah, it%26#39;s two communities away from North Station directly to the north; only Charlestown lies in between. But I%26#39;ll back up what people have been saying - you shouldn%26#39;t be worried about missing the last train out headed for Newburyport. The subways and commuter rail are always fun before and after big concerts. Its being Halloween should only enhance that.
Hi Sierra,
Another option for staying is in Woburn, next door to the Anderson Transportation Center. There are a few hotels, clustered around the train station (Courtyard by Marriott, and a Hampton Inn). It%26#39;s right off of rte 128, near the intersection with I 93. The train is the Lowell line, which has a good frequent schedule and goes right into North Station, which is under the Banknorth Garden. Also, being on rte 128, you are in between Salem and Boston. Just take Rte 114 to Rte 128 and then to the hotel. You are also far removed from having to drive in the city; it%26#39;s mostly suburban and highway driving.
