NY-Boston with luggage

Am planning a trip to NY and Boston, in October, and am looking at either the Acela Express or the Limoliner service to get from NY to Boston. Will be traveling on a Friday, and want to be in Boston mid/late afternoon.

Given that we will probably have 3/4 cases between 2 of us, I think the Limoliner might be the easiest option?

Limoliner is also slightly cheaper, although not enough to make a real difference.

Another consideration might be which service provides the most scenic journey? Since its going to tak c 4 hours, we may as well get some benefit!

Staying in Midtown in NY and the Radisson in Boston if that makes any differnece.

I know I%26#39;ll get good, unbiased advice on here, so thanks in advance.

Hello Southhampton Vistor,

I think you%26#39;d really like that Limoliner, I travelled this way on business a few times and know people that take it all the time and won%26#39;t take the journey any other way. It%26#39;s like flying in first class traveling this way. The seats are extremely comfortable, they have beverage and meals right there for you; the clientele couldn%26#39;t be any more accomodating and it only takes you 4 hours to boot. You really can%26#39;t beat it. You%26#39;d get a good one on one conversation going about the sights and foliage viewing. I%26#39;d say your best bet is to go this way by all means.

There%26#39;s a lot of talk about the $15 one way bus fare ride from South Station, Boston, MA to New York City. There are a few Chinatown bus lines that a lot of people are saying are very economical, fast and very good. One of them is this....

This is the one that one of my cousins took and thought it was very good.

There are quite a lot of them for instance the Boston Deluxe.com but I%26#39;m hearing it%26#39;s very loud and boisterous and no one speaks English.

The Acela train is fantastic, I took it a few times with my nieces. I couldn%26#39;t believe how fast it took us to get there! If I had to make a choice though? I would say the Limoliner; it%26#39;s top shelf and you can%26#39;t beat the price!

Have a wonderful trip!

I%26#39;ve never taken Limoliner or Acela, but have heard nothing but raves for either! I have taken the regular Amtrak trains for years. As far as scenery goes... it%26#39;s quite pretty along the Connecticut coastal route of Amtrak, but the inland part is boring. If the Limolines uses the Merritt Parkway (?), you just might get some real pretty foliage. Though neither one is going to be scenic all the way, I%26#39;m sure Limoliner won%26#39;t be as likely to race between the backs of warehouses.

I%26#39;ve never taken the lemoliner, but have taken both Acela and the bus, and for personal travel I like the bus better. The bus is cheaper, faster, more frequent, and more convenient. Depending on the bus you take, they leave every hour and you can have an open ticket to leave whenever you want. Even the Acela doesn%26#39;t go as fast as you might think, and is often no faster than the bus. I also think it%26#39;s a bit easier to take lugage on the bus than it is on the train.

The Chinatown bus is the cheapest at around $15 (http://www.fungwahbus.com)and Greyhound isn%26#39;t much more http://www.greyhound.com but probably more convenient for you as it drops off in midtown.

As far as scenic goes, there%26#39;s really very little that%26#39;s scenic about the most direct routes between Boston and New York. You%26#39;ll see some nice foliage though.
