Dressing

I%26#39;m 22, i%26#39;ll be in Boston with a buddy in about two weeks. We plan on going to the bars at night and were just wondering whats the proper dress code. I%26#39;m from Miami, so its more casual for bars and more dressy for the clubs. We dont plan on going to clubs though, just some of the college bars and the ones around Fenway. Thanks.

I think you should be fine going casual at the majority of bars here. Clubs do tend to be dressier, but I%26#39;m sure jeans would be okay most places. I know some places are weird about t-shirts/tank tops and sneakers, so just avoid those things.

Dressing

Stay away from flip-flops and tank tops, and you should be fine. Most of the college places in Allston/Brighton and Harvard Sq. will be fine with a nice shirt and jeans.

If you plan to go to the clubs in Boylston Place, or on Landsdowne St. or on Newbury St., you%26#39;d probably want to dress up a bit.
