Hi
My wife and i will be travelling to Boston in February 06, and were wondering what was the most convenient way of getting from the airport to Our Hotel.
Is it advisable to get a taxi or use another from of Transport?
Any idea on the cost of a Taxi from the airport to Copley Sq?

Cheers WMichael,
I just wrote up a return message to you but it%26#39;s gone, if this posts twice that%26#39;s why.
The most convenient way of getting from the airport to your hotel is a taxi. The taxis are extremely safe as long as you get in a taxi with a meter in it; make sure it has one. This site is very very good....it%26#39;ll give you all the information you need for transportation from Logan to your Hotel regarding Taxis. It even has the list of Boston Licensed Taxi Companies with their telephone #%26#39;s right here. It%26#39;ll also show you the flat rates and fares and how it%26#39;s calculated by the taxi companies and the City of Boston.

The other night on the local nightly news there was a terrible incident in Boston where 2 women got in to a taxi or so they thought it was a taxi, and the guy ended up raping them; so the Boston Police and every one are looking all over for this guy. We%26#39;re all hoping he%26#39;s caught and sent ';up the river'; very soon! I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;ll be on the news again about it with an update. As far as all the other taxis? Believe me they%26#39;re VERY safe it%26#39;s people that have to be cautious with what they%26#39;re stepping in to! Make sure the taxi is one of the ones listed on this website that I sent to you above. Make sure it has a METER in the cab; you%26#39;ll see it in all the taxis and know what I%26#39;m talking about. It%26#39;s clicking away the more miles you go unfortunately! Have a great time in February!
Cheers WMichael

Are you familiar with using the subway? I just got back from Boston and found the subway extremely easy (and cheap and safe) to use. Granted you may consider taxi due to winter weather. But there%26#39;s shuttle from baggage claim to the subway station (Airport on Blue line). Copley Square is on Green line if I recall accurately, just change over at Gov%26#39;t Center. It costs $1.25 per person, and tons of ppl are on the subway with luggages. If you are to use subway during the entire stay, get a pass. We got a 3-day pass for $18 and we use the T all day long.
Hello again,
I just read the previous post about taking the subway and it would be all well and good if you were flying in locally from state to state or even closer from town to City?
I%26#39;ll tell you, if I just took a trans-atlantic flight and I had jet lag or was totally exhausted from the flight? The last thing I%26#39;d want to deal with is a subway station and then a train connection. I think it would be wise to hop in a METERED taxi cab to get to a hotel don%26#39;t you?
Cheers!
If you take a taxi, be sure to emphasize Copley SQUARE Hotel at the corner of Exeter and Huntington. There is also a hotel called Copley PLAZA Hotel, which is a block away at St. James and Dartmouth. Copley Plaza is grander and better known, so it wouldn%26#39;t surprise me if a cabbie assumed you meant this one.
Though you could save a bit of $$ by taking the subway, at that time of year, the sidewalks are often slushy and slippery, and the walk between either Copley (green line) or Back Bay (Orange Line) stations while schlepping luggage could be less than pleasant. (Plus, many subway stations don%26#39;t have elevators or escalators... a consideration if you have heavy luggage)
You could also look into the limo (actually a small bus) that serves all the hotels.
I always take a taxi from the airport. After a long flight and I%26#39;m guessing a fair amount of luggage it%26#39;s by far the easiest way. I usually stay in Downtown Boston and the fare is never more than $20 + tip. I often travel alone and have never had a problem with getting a cab outside the airport. Most of them are metered, just check before you get in. Have fun
