Hello pwardell,

The easiest way to get to Vermont from Boston if you%26#39;re relying on public transportation is Greyhound bus. Just check out the schedules online and get to the Boston bus terminal and you%26#39;ll be in Vermont in approximately 3 hours.

Here%26#39;s the site:

http://www.greyhound.com

The bus will leave Boston and head up to I93N towards Concord, NH then they%26#39;ll get to I89 toward Lebanon and White River Junction and from there, well it depends on the bus you%26#39;re on most likely, so check your schedule good online

they go to 6 different locations in Vermont. Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Burlington, Montpelier, Rutland and White River Junction.

You could check out a tour from Boston and you could just sit back and see the beautiful scenery on a guided tour you know? Let the tour guide show you the way and then still be back in Boston. Check out some of these links....

Good luck and have a great trip!

Additionally, Vermont Transit Lines buses between the larger towns such as White River and Burlington.

I also understand that Amtrak is adding a train from Boston to Montreal. Don%26#39;t know yet what the particulars are - the Amtrak website would be helpful here

Both modes of transportation won%26#39;t be terribly quick. Where in VT are you thinking of visiting?
