First time help!

My husband and I will be traveling to Boston this weekend for the first time. We are staying at the Marriott Copley Place and need suggestions for restaurants in the area or at least walking distance from the hotel. We eat just about everything but we are on somewhat of a budget (nothing over $20 a plate). Thanks in advance!!

It would help if you could be more specific about what you like to eat. There are hundreds of places which might fit your description, in that area.

Here are some ideas just off the top of my head:

Firefly, on Dartmouth St, next to Copley Place, is casual American food, and reasonably-priced. If you like Italian, I don%26#39;t usually suggest chains, but Bertucci%26#39;s is a local chain that has excellent food, very reasonably-priced, with a wood-fired brick oven that churns out some wonderful pizzas and baked dishes. They have a location on Staniford St., off of Clarendon St., between the Mass Pike and Stuart St. It%26#39;s about two blocks from your hotel.

Fire and Ice, on St. James St. and Berkeley Sts. It%26#39;s an ';Improvisational Grill';, where you pick meat/seafood/veggies/noodles from a raw food bar, then you pick a sauce from a sauce bar, and you bring it to the grill where they cook it for you. It%26#39;s all you can eat, and I believe it%26#39;s $17.00/per person. Here%26#39;s the website:

In the Newbury St. area, I like Charley%26#39;s Eating and Drinking Saloon, which is pub grub (ribs/burgers/sandwiches/steaks), and it%26#39;s a nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and decent food.

For Greek food, I like Steve%26#39;s Greek/American restaurant, also on Newbury St. They have excellent kabobs and dishes like Moussaka.

For Middle Eastern food, there%26#39;s Cafe Jaffa, on Gloucester St., off of Newbury St. They have excellent schwarma plates, kebobs, and mezze (humus, tabooli, baba ghanoush, etc.).

I forgot to ask YOU a question. I%26#39;m going to be visiting Nashville in February for a Trisha Yearwood/Raul Malo concert at the Grand Ole Opry. Last time I was there, we ended up grabbing a bite at the mall food court next door. I%26#39;d like to avoid that this time.

Do you know of any good restaurants near the Opry? Moderately-priced, if they are Southern-style, so much the better, as I like to try things I can%26#39;t get here in Boston. Some place where the locals like to go would be perfect.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!! All the restaurants you named sound great. We LOVE Italian food so we may try Bertucci%26#39;s.

Now as far as restaurants near the Grand Ol%26#39; Opry... the most southern place you could possibly go would be Cck of the Walk. It is very close to Oprymills and the hotel. Thanks for your help, Music. I did love the ';Meat and 3'; places we went to when we were in Nashville, so Southern sounds good to me.

As for your trip here, if you LOVE Italian, you might want to consider visiting the North End. It%26#39;s the Italian neighborhood here, and it%26#39;s huge, with fantastic food, wonderful pastry shops, great cafes, and it%26#39;s very popular with locals and visitors alike.

You can easily get there via the T from your hotel. Just take the Orange Line at Back Bay Station and go to Haymarket. From there, follow the Freedom trail into the North End.

Some of the restaurants can be expensive there, but not all. Try Giacomo%26#39;s or Mama Maria%26#39;s, or Antico Forno. I believe that they all have listings here on Trip Advisor.
