We%26#39;re trying to plan a trip to the Boston/Salem areas in the first part of December, and I%26#39;ve heard from some people who used to live around that area that a lot of things are closed around then and that some of the sites and tours in Salem are mostly a seasonal thing.
Is this true? If so, what IS open to the public at that time or recommended?
Any help would be appreciated!

Most of the museums are open regardless of the season - the Witch Museum and the House of the Seven Gables is open. You should definitely take in the Peabody Essex Museum, which is a wonderful and fascinating place filled with New England maritime history.

Admittedly, any of the more schlocky/halloweeny things will the done, but there%26#39;s still Pickering Wharf to discover, or even the beautiful park at the end of Salem Willows. The park is a bit windswept at that time of year, but has beautiful views to the south and east.

Thanks! I will have to check those sites out.
