Hi!
Where is the best place to stay on Martha%26#39;s Vineyard? I read till now Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven.
Do you know a good and cheap hotel (no roaches!) there?
Can somebody perhaps tell me, how big Martha%26#39;s Vineyard is? (How long I need from one end to the other?)
Which things I really have to see and visit there?
+ Is it worthwile to visit from there Cap Cod or something else?
Thanks very very much in advance for your answers!!!! :-)))
Nice greetings!
Flight next weekend (18. - 20. November 2005) to Martha's...
Hi Romey78,
This site you%26#39;re on right here has all your information you need, it%26#39;s quite good! Martha%26#39;s Vineyard Deals, Attractions, Discount Hotels and Restaurants listed seem to be right on the money!
You%26#39;ll miss the ';Christmas in Edgartown';
weekend by a few weeks, it%26#39;s being held December 9th, 10th and 11th and it looks pretty good.
If you go in to www.explorenewengland.com
It%26#39;s a very good site! It%26#39;s affiliated with the Boston Globe, and has some great articles and gives you lists of places that are suggested to stay at and a lot of restaurant ideas that are recommended. This site is quite good to explore through. It%26#39;s fairly new and a very good tool for travelers to New England. It%26#39;ll give you some really great ideas of what events are going on for the particular weekend you%26#39;re in town, for you while you%26#39;re on the island it%26#39;ll give you good suggestions and it%26#39;s updated all the time, which is really good.
Check these three sites for ideas as well, they%26#39;re very good....

You were looking for a place to stay while you%26#39;re there? Well remember it%26#39;s off season and a lot of the places will be closed up for the winter. This site as well as sites like orbitz might be good places to check out rooms and rates. There%26#39;s a place in Edgartown that%26#39;s on obtiz for $90 a night! That sounds cheap but then again it%26#39;s off season! The Clarion Carriage House Inn, I have NO idea what it%26#39;s like, but the picture online of it at least looks CLEAN and decent for that type of money! It%26#39;s a 10 minute walk from the downtown area. The # is 508 477-8600.
Now are you sure you don%26#39;t want to wait until the nice weather to go there??
WHATEVER!!! Have Fun!!!

Wow! Thank you VERY VERY MUCH for your great tips!!!! :-)))
So I will wait now until christmas time! :-))) Are you going there too? ;-)
Another - stupid - question: Till now I thought that MVY is a normal airport on Martha%26#39;s Vineyard, but no ';normal'; airline is flying there. :-( So do you have perhaps a tip, how to get from New York City or White Plains very cheap (I%26#39;m an au pair) to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard? Should I perhaps take a bus to Boston? But then I will lose around 5 hours and I just have a weekend time. Oh man! That%26#39;s so difficult! :-(((
Nice greetings! :-))

Something to remember: The ferry from Woods Hole to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard is much shorter it only takes 45 minutes to get there.
You know one way you could get there is by bus?
You could take the bus from South Station right to Woods Hole and you%26#39;d be there in no time....try this site:
www.bonanzabus.com
It%26#39;ll give you the schedules from South Station to Woods Hole which is what you%26#39;re looking for.....you%26#39;ll connect fine! You%26#39;ll be surprised how quick it%26#39;ll be, it%26#39;s less than 2 hours to Woods Hole if that! Then the ferry is only a 45 minute little jaunt and you%26#39;ll be there in no time!
Have fun! May be other people can give you suggestions too, so keep checking back for other ideas!
