I%26#39;m visiting Boston this w/e and am looking for an interesting movie theater to go to. (Maybe something similar to the Ziegfield in NYC?) Any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi,
If by ';interesting';, you mean independent, there are a few places to try.
The Brattle theater, in Harvard Sq. shows indie films, and also does retrospectives of old movies, too:

The Coolidge Corner cinema in Brookline shows indie films, and some more oddball things in it%26#39;s screening room. They also have live performances which range from the bizarre to the sublime:

The Harvard Film Archive, at Harvard U., also shows old movies and indie films, and has some interesting programming as well:

Have fun!

In addition to the cinemas already suggested, I would add the Landmark Cinema in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Here%26#39;s the website:

I%26#39;m not familiar with the Ziegfield... maybe it%26#39;s what my fellow ';old-timers'; might equate with the old ';Orson Welles'; or Exeter Street'; theatres?
