shows in november

We`re coming to boston from the u.k at the beginning of November and we would like to take in a show while there.

Can anyone tell me what shows are playing and any website links would be helpful.

Any other advice on do`s and don`ts would also be appreciated.

Here%26#39;s a great place to start:

http://www.broadwayinboston.com/

This will give you all the scoop on the Broadway shows and their road schedules. Caveat: if you%26#39;re coming and hoping to see the NY cast, don%26#39;t bet on it. The road show is usually a different cast.

Also there%26#39;s The Wang Center

Hopefully between these two you can find something to sink your teeth into!

Hi,

You should definitely check out this website:

http://www.artsboston.org

It%26#39;s a website which sells tickets at a discount for most of the theater/music/concert productions in Boston. If you don%26#39;t mind getting seats in the balcony or the back of the orchestra, you can save 25-35% on tickets if you buy them here. It%26#39;s also a good site for seeing what%26#39;s playing. Some of the shows sponsored by BroadwayinBoston are also listed here, at a discount (but again, seats are usually in the balcony).

In addition, ArtsBoston runs two kiosks, one at Copley Sq., and the other at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, that sell half-price, day-of-performance tickets. Of course, you can%26#39;t guarantee what they might have available on any given day, but if you are in town and don%26#39;t already have plans, it%26#39;s worth looking at.

Three other web sites with great information on theater/concerts, etc:

http://boston.citysearch.com

http://www.boston.com

http://www.bostonphoenix.com

As far as do%26#39;s and don%26#39;ts, I don%26#39;t really think that there are any to worry about. People here don%26#39;t really dress up for the theater, so don%26#39;t worry about that (no jackets required or anything like that).

Maybe one other thing. The Wang center and the Opera house are two huge theaters in Boston which usually have good shows. But, they both seat over 2000 people each, so if you do get tickets in the balcony at either place, you will be pretty far removed from the stage.

Personally, I subscribe to the Lyric Stage company of Boston, and I highly recommend their shows. They are always of the highest quality and very well done. The theater is also nice and small, with great sightlines from anywhere. Other excellent theater companies here are the Huntington, the American Repertory Theater, SpeakEasy stage, the New Repertory Theatre (they have a brand new theater, but it%26#39;s in the suburbs), the Sugan Theater company. I might be missing a few, but check the websites I gave you and have a great trip!

Hi -

Another group that does good stuff is Company One. They put on their shows in the South End.

Have fun!

See Blue Man Group! Wonderful show, innovative and funny. I would also advise you if you want to take in a show for cheaper to buy your tickets from BosTIX located in Copley Square and Fanuiel Hall. You can get tickets for half off.

Here is a little article that explains Bostix

Also, at the Charles Playhouse is ';Shear Madness';, a long running comedy. Tickets can be obtained online, at the box office or at the Bostix Kiosk in Coply Square or Quincy Market.
