Hello, I%26#39;ll visit Boston for 4 days from next Thursday to Sunday.
As I%26#39;ve heard the fall foliage in Vermont is so much beautiful, and not so far from Boston, I%26#39;d like to go to Vermont, too. But, I don%26#39;t know where I should go for the best driveway and beautiful scenery. Could you recommend any particular place? Thanks.

Brattleboro, VT is closest in the very SE corner of the state. Rt. 2 west out of suburban Boston all the way out to Greenfield and then up Rt. 91. About 2 hours. From there, you could go west on Rt. 9 towards Dover/Wilmington or northwest on Rt 30 towards Newfane. Mind you, foliage is running slightly behind this year. Typically, Columbus Day weekend is near peak or peak across the upper Green mtns (VT) and White Mtns (NH). So a week later, when you will be here, should be great timing for peak colors from the mountains up north and across southern VT and NH. Rt. 2 is heavily traveled by the leaf peepers, so expect traffic.
Also, VT has nothing over the rest of the region, when it comes to fall colors. It is equally stunning throughout New England. North Conway in the Mount Washington Valley is a super fall foliage destination, less than 3 hours from Boston. Lincoln/Woodstock is a 2 1/4 hour straight shot right up Rt. 93. Kancamagus Highway between Lincoln and Conway is awesome, and popular!

Another highly recommended route is to take Interstate 93 North to I 89 North to the Stowe-Waterbury Route 100 exit and continue onward to Stowe and the Mount Mansfield (Stowe) Smuggler%26#39;s North ski areas. Then, reverse your direction and take Route 100 South as far as the Massachusetts border and connect with either Route 2 East or I 90 East toward Boston or travel on I 90 West to I 87, the New York Throughway South to NY and PA. This is a two day trip if you begin in Boston. If you travel directly from PA to Burlington, Vermont via I 87 North and other roads, crossing into Vermont at Crown Point, NY, and then North to Burlington, VT then over to I 89 West to Stowe and return it can also be done in two days. Three days would be more restful. There is excellent foliage in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire now but in the central to Northern areas.
