Unfortunately, you cannot get a train to Marblehead directly. You can do it a number of ways, though. You can take the Blue Line to Wonderland and get the bus to Marblehead from there, you can take the commuter rail from North Station to Lynn and then transfer to the bus, or you can take the express from Haymarket/Downtown Crossing all the way to Marblehead. Routes 441 %26amp; 442 are the buses you%26#39;d take.It all depends on how much time you have and what is the most convenient option.

Hello PWardell,
If you%26#39;re up to it you could always take a bus all the way from Haymarket Sq., in downtown Boston to Marblehead the only thing is on weekends there%26#39;s no Haymarket Sq. bus to Marblehead, it%26#39;s there during the week though every day. It%26#39;s a schedule that you would have to check online to make sure you%26#39;re getting the bus times okay, so make sure you do that.
Go to www.mbta.com
check on the times of the day you%26#39;d have to be at the particular location for your day trip.
You could take the train from North Station to Rockport if you were interested in that? If you go online to www.mbta.com again you can check out the schedule and make your decision, you%26#39;d take the Newburyport/Rockport train. Just go in to this site and you%26#39;ll see the map of all the surrounding interesting places from Rockport, the only thing is you%26#39;d need a car, but it%26#39;ll give you an idea of how far each location is on this site, it%26#39;s really good....

If you went all the way on the Newburyport/Rockport commuter line you could always head up to Newburyport and walk over from the train, just be careful at this rotary and intersection, but it%26#39;s a very easy walk from the train right up in to the town where they have all kinds of shops, bistros and restaurants to explore, it%26#39;s a very quaint seaporty type town! actually it%26#39;s one of many along the MA coastline, you%26#39;ll really like it here when you see all the quaint old homes and interesting shops.
Have fun!
