Thinking of taking a trip to Boston over the Xmas period (2 adults and 2 teenagers, 17 and 14). Any suggestions of must sees or dos?
Boston - December 26th for 5 nights
The obvious answer is First Night... a city-wide celebration of the New Year... on the 31st, if you%26#39;re here. Many activities are free, but you can purchase a button which gets you into everything. As the time gets near, the buttons will be available everywhere... I think maybe even on-line.
The weather at that time of year is highly unpredictable, and you probably could wait until the time gets closer to really make speciifc plans... most things won%26#39;t require reservations, unless you%26#39;re planning on attending theatrical performances, such as the Boston Ballet%26#39;s Nutcracker.

I%26#39;d also say another obvious pick would be catching the Boston Pops show. Ice skating on the Frog Pond on Boston Common is another tradition around that time of year (but bundle up!)

If your going to see Boston and shop and take part in NYE stay at the Parker House as they are right in the middle of all this and you will be able to relax and take advantage of the great food and location that the hotel has.
Cant beat the prices on Breakfast and Dinner in the restaurant
We walked 1 block to see the fireworks and parade on NYE right around the corner from the hotel.
