I am travelling to Boston to see the Ansel Adams exhibit at the MFA. Is there anything special going on this weekend that I should see?
I%26#39;m interested in art, architecture, photography and design. Outdoor events a +.
Thanks,
Christopher
What's going on in Boston this weekend?
Check the ';Calendar Section'; of the Boston Globe on Thursdays. It lists all weekend events. I believe that it might be available on Thursday online at www.boston.com. Another online source is the Bosotn Phoenix at www.bostonphoenix.com.
What's going on in Boston this weekend?
Thanks, edgers, I will try both.
Also, The MFA has many guided tours. They are scheduled each week and an updated schedule is published each month. The bus tours may not run after October. There are several walking tours. I presume that they are held year round but it is best to call or email first for confirmation. A sample of Boston Architectural tours from their Website is as follows:
Get to Know Boston%26#39;s Architecture
The Museum offers informed, carefully planned tours for those who want to see the best of Boston%26#39;s magnificent buildings and sense the history and artistic traditions that shaped them. All tours include identification and description of significant buildings along the route.
Tours begin and end at the Museum%26#39;s West Wing entrance at 10 am, last about two hours, and are led by Museum-trained guides.
Bus Tours are scheduled from April through October. These tours are not recommended for small children. Special Group Tours may be arranged.
Walking Beacon Hill Tour:
Step back in time two hundred years and see Beacon Hill through the eyes of the visionary architect, Charles Bulfinch, who influenced the development of this part of historic Boston and established the Federal style of architecture.
Walking Back Bay Tour:
Wide streets and one grand avenue traverse this former marshland. Thirty years of landfill created the ground for Boston鈥檚 magnificent Back Bay, a remarkable monument of Victorian architecture, both public and residential.
Members $20; nonmembers $25 (includes entry to the Museum). For more information and reservations, call 617-369-3395.

At the same site you will find guided tours of the museum%26#39;s collections. You should also visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum located in her former home and designed as a 15th-century Venetian palace. The art is exquisite.
