Downtown Crossing has Macy%26#39;s and Filene%26#39;s (get there before it closes), and Filene%26#39;s Basement. Lots of other shoe/apparel/jewelry shops and whatnot around Downtown Crossing (intersection of Washington and Summer Streets). Newbury Street for fat wallet shopping. An array of affordable and expensive stores along Boylston Street, and then you have the shops at the Prudential Center, as well.

thanks powie

BTW, if you feel the need to hit the common fare mall stores, some of which you%26#39;ll find at the Pru Ctr and Downtown Crossing, there is always the Cambridgeside Galleria Mall right across the Charles River, around the corner from the Museum of Science. There are other bigger malls along the 128 belt of suburban Boston (S. Shore Mall in Braintree, Natick Mall/Shoppers World in Natick, Burlington Mall in Burlington, and N. Shore Mall and Liberty Tree Mall in Peabody/Danvers).
