Hi

Would it be worth spending money on one of theses cards in november,a lot of the attractions will be closed (whale watching ,ferry etc..).

I don`t want to buy one and realise I`ve wasted my cash.

Refer to the excellent reply given to much the same question in this forum, title of the thread is ';Boston Go Card';.

There is another card offered by the same company that does some of the historical attractions called ';Boston Explorer Pass'; It costs less and had less attractions. www.explorerpass.com There is a also sale right now for go boston cards, so I believe that it would still be worth it to do all the other attractions. Since you couldn%26#39;t do a whale watch anyway (close in September) I think it%26#39;s a good deal especially if you do the more expensive attractions-- Aquarium, 5-wits, Beantown Trolley and maybe even the Fall Foliage Tour. Beautiful during November!

Whale watching tours are scheduled out of Gloucester, MA until the end of October.

Try this general Website for a list of several tour operators.

Then, search down at the bottom right hand side for the list of links to the Websites of the various tour operators. I believe that there are four. You can contact them by email for exact schedules. Some may offer tours on weekends only.

Gloucester is located about an hour to one and one half hours North of Boston by car (Route 1 to Route 128 North).

The advantage to a whale watching trip from Gloucester is that it is much closer to the whale watching area at Stellwagon Bank. It is a shorter trip and you can stay at that location longer. Kee in mind that during October the weather can be colder and the seas rougher.

You can also travel to Gloucester by commuter rail from North Station in Boston but before planning to do so in your emails inquire about location and distance from the train station to the dock of each tour operator and whether they can pick you up and drop you off or recommend a taxi service both ways.

Commuter rail schedules are found at www.mbta.org

It would def. be worth the money to spend on the card because you get shopping deals and food deals with the card as well. Plus, all the museums are still open. You could also get the Historic Boston Explorer Pass, but I think Go Boston Card is much more fun because it has more attractions. If you do get one you could also take the Fall Foliage Tour which is a great way to see the surrounding Boston areas.
