Favorite Hidden Gems in Boston for Dining?

Casa Romero in Back Bay.

Massimino%26#39;s at the edge of the North End is a great place for inexpensive Italian, and they have an exceptional antipasto. I really love Sorento%26#39;s behind Fenway Park for Italian as well (I%26#39;ve heard their pizza is great too, though I%26#39;ve never tried it). Presto Pizza in Cleveland Circle near Boston College is my very favorite pizza place around and Shino Express on Newbury Street is a wonderful hole-in-the-wall place for inexpensive sushi. Tiger Lily near Symphony Hall is great for Asian/Indonesian and Sichuan Garden in Brookline is awesome for spicy authentic and popular Chinese.

La Summa in the North End on Fleet Street for great homemade sauce and pasta. Iruna in Harvard Square for great Spanish and Basque food (love their garlic soup!).

I think Casa Romero is overrated and overpriced for what you get. The ambiance is very cool in the tiny dining room, and the service was great as well, but the food left something to be desired. Just my opinion!

My all-time favorite ';hidden gems'; are the Franklin Cafe on Shawmut Ave and Anchovie%26#39;s on Columbus Ave... both in the South End.

One of my favorite ';hidden gems'; is Addis Red Sea Ethiopian restauant in the South End, on Tremont St. The atmosphere is a lot of fun, the food is delicious and unusual, and the Harrar beer is also very good.

Helmand in Cambridge..fabulous.

DKEL... I don%26#39;t know where in FLA you are, exactly, but have you ever heard of Cap%26#39;s Place in Pompano Beach?

to isboston:

I have been to Caps Place a few years back and the food was good. The experience of the place is better than the food. At one time the restaurant was only accesible by boat. They actually have a boat that picks you up at a public dock and brings you back after dinner. The history dates back to early Pompano Beach and there are pictures scatttered here and there with famous people who would frequent the place.
