We will be in Boston on Columbus Day staying at the Radisson in the theater district. Just wondered if anyone knows where a good place to watch the parade might be? Time as well.
Thanks, Lisa
Columbus Day Parade
The Parade begins at the intersection of Charles and Boylston Streets, where the Common and Public Garden runs parallel. You could find yourself a spot on the Common side at the baseball diamond, or further down towards Beacon Hill. There is going to be a lot of congestion in that aream what with the Boston Common Garage entrance and the parade getting itself in gear. You might find stationing yourself on the opposite corner - the Starbuck%26#39;s comes to mind at Charles and Beacon -better for viewing.
To be honest, I have never seen the parade so I don%26#39;t know whether it%26#39;s big, little, etc. I wouldn%26#39;t be surprised if the Parade Grounds in the Common (the flats nearest Charles St.) will have food carts and other items for sale.
The parade begins at 1:00 PM.
Columbus Day Parade
Thanks for asking this Lisa - we%26#39;ll also be staying in the Radisson on Columbus Day and although I may have been told about the parade a while back I%26#39;d forgotten about it. Enjoy your stay. :)
Thank you very much.
Is it on Monday 10th then? I have read about a parade on Sunday 9th (which seems to have been postponed to the 23rd because of the rain) but some web sites also talk about a parade on Columbus Day. Are there two parades?
