If I were going to Boston............

with my best friend for a short two night trip in december, where should we stay? We are two guys in our mid-twenties. We enjoy going to bars and having a good time. We would like to stay close to where the action is in Boston, and close to the best area for the bar scene. Also, where should se go if we want to watch Monday Night Football, but still have a good time in a monday night?

Also, what are the bars that would best suit us? We don%26#39;t really enjoy upscale trendy bars. We enjoy bars that most typical guys just out of college our age would enjoy. Nothing too big or to ghetto, justa place to meet some new people and have a good time.

If I were going to Boston............

i should have mentioned that we do not nned to stay in a 5star hotel. all we need is a decent room with a CLEAN place to sleep and shower.

If I were going to Boston............

I think the Holiday Inn in Brookline is a good deal. It%26#39;s just a few short T-stops away from the Fenway/Kenmore area, which has a million bars to choose from. Easily one of if not the best place to see football, baseball or any other sport is Game On at Fenway Park. The basement level has an enormous bar with something like 50 flatscreen HD t.v.%26#39;s and awesome sound. There%26#39;s not a bad seat in the house. The interior looks upscale, but it%26#39;s as casual as it gets and the food is very good. Beer is a bit pricier than other bars in the area (4:50-5:00), but not too bad. My sister and I always go there for MNF, it can%26#39;t be beat.

There are so many bars in the city that suit people of your age and taste, it%26#39;s hard to recommend just a few. As stated above, the Kenmore area has countless places to choose from, so you can just go there and wander until you see something you like. Cask n%26#39; Flagon is probably the most popular, very casual and fun, but there are a ton more. Gillian%26#39;s is an entertainment complex with several floors where you can dance, drink, play pool or bowl. Boston Billiard Club is a fun, very casual place with lots of t.v.%26#39;s and pool and very cheap drafts, so that%26#39;s another good option for watching the game. Down the street a little from Fenway is a great place, An Tua Nua with cheap beer, great food and t.v.%26#39;s., that%26#39;s one of my favorite local bars.

There are so many other great areas for going out. Boylston Street (Hynes Convention Center, Arlington and Boylston T-stops) is a long strip of bars/restaurants. Cactus Club is pretty casual and famous for its singles scene. Just off Boylston past Back Bay Station is a place called Clery%26#39;s, which is very popular and is also a great place for singles. Then on Newbury (the street parallel to Boylston) there%26#39;s Daisy Buchanan%26#39;s, which is very popular with local and visiting athletes, so there are always throngs of girls. There are a ton of places in that area, it%26#39;s tough to go wrong.

Then there%26#39;s the Faneuil Hall area (Government Center T-stop), although in my opinion, a lot of the bars there start to look pretty cheesy as you move into your mid to late twenties. We used to go to Clark%26#39;s, Bell n%26#39; Hand, the Rack and Hong Kong and always had fun. You might enjoy the Rack, as it%26#39;s always teeming with single girls looking to meet people (it%26#39;s another place that%26#39;s very popular with athletes), it can definitely be a meat-market.

Finally, the Fleet Center area is decent, but much more low-key than Faneuil Hall or Boylston. There%26#39;s actually a cool sports bar/club there called The Greatest Bar. It has 3 or 4 floors, so you can either sit at one of the bars and watch the game on one of the many flatscreens or wander around, dance, whatever. There%26#39;s also The Harp, Grand Canal, and a few other places. And it%26#39;s within easy walking distance to Government Center/Faneuil Hall.

Recomend you stay at the Omni Parker House Hotel.

They have the best deals and the best location in the city to get to all the bars and restaurants

They are right next to

Beantown Pub,The Littlest Bar,Hub Pub,The Kinsale Irish Pub,Emmetts Pub,

The Last Hurrah is in the hotel and its great to watch people walk by on the Freedom Trail.

You are also walking distance from the HOtel to Quincy Marketplace which is 3 blocks and has plenty of more bars and places to hang out.
