Back Bay restaurents

Hi gurrane,

The neighborhood around your hotel is perfectly safe, and you should feel fine walking around at night, as long as you aren%26#39;t planning to wave your wallet around in the air and yell ';mug me!';...just kidding...it%26#39;s a very nice, safe area to walk around, and plenty of people out at night.

For relaxing bars, Whiskey%26#39;s and the Pour House on Boylston St. are nice. The bar at Kings bowling alley on Dalton St., near Boylston, is also a hip/fun place to get a drink. I%26#39;ve heard the food there is pretty good too, but I haven%26#39;t tried it myself.

As for restaurants, depends on what you like to eat. For Greek food, Steve%26#39;s on Newbury St. is reasonable and tasty.

For Southwestern food, the Cactus Club on Boylston St. is very good, and they make a killer Margarita as well. I also like Charley%26#39;s Eating and Drinking Saloon on Newbury St. for pub food like burgers/ribs and steak, and a nice friendly atmosphere.

If you are looking for something specific, let me know and I can add to the suggestions.

I agree with the previous poster about Charley%26#39;s, it%26#39;s very decent and the prices are good. I wouldn%26#39;t go there and order a steak or something like that, but if you stick to burgers, pastas, etc., you%26#39;ll enjoy it. They have a very good clam chowder too. Another place I like near there is Croma, which specializes in gourmet pizza and Italian dishes. The drawback there is that the drinks are a bit pricey, but the food itself is extremely fair and very good and the desserts are great (I recommend the toffee bread pudding).

Hello Beantownman,celebrien,

Thanks for info. I tend to eat traditional European and like Chinese ,my wife is more adventurous, Can you suggest a romantic restaurant with good food as above .

I%26#39;m not sure what you consider ';reasonably priced';, but one of my favorite romantic places is Ciao Bella, an Italian restaurant on Newbury Street. Piattini, also on Newbury, is all the rage lately. Both Ciao Bells and Piattini Wine Bar are elegant and I think the prices aren%26#39;t too bad, though again, that varies for everyone. Also, there%26#39;s a very good Italian place behind Fenway Park called Sorrento%26#39;s that is romantic and the prices there are quite low for the quality and atmosphere. If you like Asian, I would give Typhoon on Boylston a try, I%26#39;ve heard very good things about it.

That area is probably the safest in town. If I were you I would try Solas at the base of the Lenox Hotel or try one of the wine and cigar bars on Newbury Street. There are a lot of great restaurants nearby. American Joe Cafe, Chili Duck (if you like cheap thai food), Cheesecake factory is a chain that%26#39;s located in the Copley Mall, but it%26#39;s food is delicious despite the fact. I used to live in Boston and that area of Beacon Street is one of the best places to be. Safe, beautiful, and close to central Boston. I recommend walking until you see a great place. Also, if you want to go to a small but great pub, try Bukowskis. It%26#39;s a little bit of a walk from that area of beacon street but there is a great bowling place nearby and the bar has 100 great beers.
