We are planning a week fly driveholiday from 22nd October. We have a party of 5 adults .
We will land in Boston and want to make sure we get the best out of our week .
Week holiday in Boston Area
What are some of your interests, where are you staying and do you want to do much driving?
Week holiday in Boston AreaAn easy drive out of the city is North to Cape Ann.
Rockport, Ipswich, Gloucester are all wonderful seaside towns with great vistas and restaurants, shopping, etc.
Salem is also on the North Shore and of course, will be hopping with activity at that time. October is the unofficial ';month'; for Salem, what with Halloween. Plenty of walking tours and museums devoted to the history of this seaport town and its witch hunt history. Again, very easy drive (or even a train ride) from the city.
Lowell is out West a bit and has a great mill city history, with museums to see.
Drive out Rte. 2 towards Concord and you will get to Concord and Lexington (famous for its revolutionary war ties) and the farm stands will be overflowing with pumpkins and apples.
Great scenery at this time; maybe drive up to Maine (the southern coast is less than 2 hours drive from Boston) for lobsters or even to Vermont for maple syrup!
Have fun!
We arrive on Friday 21st and are spending 2 days in Boston. Then we hire a car and have till Saturday to explore New England. Where should we go? We want to experience and explore. We are not walkers !
