Halloween in Salem

My boyfriend and I will be in Boston the weekend of Halloween and thought it would be fun to spend time in Salem that night. Figure there must be something exciting as Salem is already completely booked for that night! We already have reservations in Beverly, so now just need to know what%26#39;s actually creepy and fun there to avoid the completely lame money-grabs. Anyone have any suggestions... or warnings?

Check this Salem, MA site out....a site for the creepy stuff right here....

Another thing you may want to check out is the Hammond Castle Museum in Gloucester.

This is a medieval castle reconstructed on a rocky bluff overlooking the Reef of Norman%26#39;s Woe... site of the famous ';Wreck of the Hesperus';. Every Halloween, they have spooky themed happenings... check the website links.

If you%26#39;re staying in Beverly, the castle is only about 15-20 minutes away, and is worth a visit even if not for the Halloween themed events.

I was just in Salem recently and I can tell you there are a lot of lame money grabs. However, it%26#39;s not so bad if you save some money on it. I would suggest taking a late-at-night Ghost Tour. Walking near the graveyard is pretty spooky, even during daylight. There should be some ';haunted houses'; up and running too during Halloween.
