My husband and I spent last weekend in Boston. We were extremely pleased with our hotel, the Langham, and with one of our two dinners. We dined at Lucca and ate very well. Our dinner at the Union Oyster House was expensive and the food quite ordinary.
I tried to get us a good hotel rate through Priceline, but wasn%26#39;t successful. I used their secondary system and booked us at the Langham - expensive, but not as bad as the rack rate.
Lucca, in the North End, was a delight. The food was imaginative, well served, and delicious.

Hello Lorac,
I%26#39;m glad you wrote about the Langham Hotel because my office was directly around the corner from this hotel and they used to book rooms in the wintertime here whenever there was a horrendous snowstorm, a ton of people would just stay here! I have a lot of fun memories in that old hotel! Of course it was when it was called the Le Meridien. I was anxious to hear how it%26#39;s been since they changed hands! It%26#39;s good to hear about it from some one that stayed there. So I guess it%26#39;s still a good place then! I%26#39;m very glad to hear that, because location wise? It%26#39;s always been one of our favorite hotels.
That%26#39;s too bad about the Union Oyster House! To tell you the truth? I myself only had a drink in there one night years ago; I never actually had dinner there because we always thought it was a ';tourist trap';! A lot of people swear by it though.
Thanks for writing about dinner at Lucca%26#39;s on Hanover St. also. That%26#39;s definitely on my list of places to have dinner some night! I%26#39;m hearing quite a lot of good things about it from some friends that live in Boston and also my sister and her husband enjoyed it immensely a few times.
Thanks again!
